#27: Board level EMI Debug with a Real Time Spectrum Analyzer

This video shows how some of the unique features of a realtime spectrum analyzer (RSA) can be used to help identify and debug transient EMI signals at the PCB level. I use a near-field RF probe to examine the emissions from a mixed-signal circuit board, and view the results on the RSA. A few of the many unique and useful features of the RSA are shown that can help you identify the nature of the RF signals observed. Even low-duty cycle signals are easily seen, and can be triggered on in the RSA. A scope can be cross-triggered from the RSA enabling you to view time-domain signals on the board that are synchronous to the transient RF event of interest.
